Web Developer

Applications are being accepted for the position of web developer.
The web developer is responsible for the technical maintenance and development of Cornell College's web sites, applications, and associated servers, which support a number of priority initiatives including marketing, communications, student recruitment, customer/client services, course-based curricula, and academic advising.
The position ensures that the technical aspects of the Cornell College websites and applications are stable, well-designed, effective in use, up-to-date, and properly maintained.
Work performed will deal with the development, programming, and maintenance of the college's website in cooperation with the Office of Marketing and Communications, a web development committee, and academic and administrative departments.
Duties & Responsibilities Develop both web-based and standalone applications using HTML, PHP, MySQL, MS-SQL, JavaScript, XML, and/or C# in.
net Core Test, troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications, both web-based and standalone.
Integrate new technologies and applications taking into consideration performance, security, and ease of use.
Work with the Web-manager and network team to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade the college web sites, applications, and associated servers.
May help coordinate scripting, programming efforts, and design implementation with other Information Technology staff and other outside parties to match desired outcome with technological feasibility.
Assist in day-to-day maintenance and installation of server systems, including web servers, content management system, search engines, and supporting product servers.
Generate periodic reports to the web manager, director, and web policy subcommittee.
Perform 24/7 on-call functions on a rotating basis and maintain a log of services and times Works as part of a department team to develop and maintain internet solutions to changing campus needs.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education RequirementsA Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field is strongly recommended.
Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
Courses or related experience demonstrating fluency in HTML, PHP, MySQL, MS-SQL, JavaScript, XML, C# in.
net Core, Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as the ability to integrate different data platforms are essential.
Two to four years of related experience is preferred.
Preferred SkillsKnowledge of Hannon Hill's Cascade or other content management system.
Experience in a digital production environment with emphasis on delivery via the web, visual designing, and in digital media development is also helpful.
Excellent written communication and organizational skills, programming documentation, and the demonstrated ability to work as a team player are required.
Candidate must have the ability to stay focused on complex projects, manage own time, meet deadlines, set priorities, work independently and as part of a team.
Working ConditionsWork is performed primarily while seated.

The position works on campus with the option of a hybrid schedule after the first 90 days of employment.
The hiring pay range for the position is $55,000 - $65,000.
