Customer Service Specialist

Cornell College invites applications for a full-time customer service specialist. This position is responsible for customer service related to student accounts receivable and non-student accounts receivable. This position also coordinates the collections effort for separated students as it relates to accounts receivable and institutional loan requirements.

Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field required with a minimum of three years of recent related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A successful candidate for this position will have strong organizational and data entry skills, a knowledge of general accounting policies and practices, and possess the ability to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, and interact professionally with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
