Cornell College Eating Disorder Institute Medical Monitor, Data Safety and Monitoring Board

The Cornell College Eating Disorder Institute in Mt. Vernon, Iowa is seeking a physician with expertise in the interpretation of electrocardiography to serve as a Medical Monitor and a member of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board for a 3-year NIH funded clinical trial evaluating the comparative efficacy of dissonance-based eating disorder treatment programs. The time commitment of this position is approximately 1-2 hours per week over the duration of the trial. As a Medical Monitor, the physician will review ECG recordings and identify patients whose cardiac function warrants further cardiac evaluation; the research team will facilitate referrals for further cardiac evaluation based on the physician's recommendation. As a member of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board, the physician will periodically evaluate research protocols, participant symptoms, and treatment outcomes in order to ensure participant safety. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
