Vice President of Enrollment and Dean of Admission

Cornell College invites applications for a vice president of enrollment and dean of admission. The vice president is responsible for the overall supervision of enrollment services, which includes the offices of admission, financial assistance, and the college's marketing and public relations efforts. The vice president makes a difference in the future of the college, primarily by ensuring that the college attracts and matriculates engaged students who wish to benefit from and contribute to the life of the college. In so doing, the vice president builds, maintains, and inspires a motivated team of individuals in the offices of admission, financial assistance, and marketing communications, and works closely with faculty, coaches, staff, and students. Further, the vice president is an important participant and leader in the college's retention efforts, working closely with faculty and staff to improve student retention.
Going forward, he or she will be primarily responsible for leading the efforts to grow enrollment and maintain a strong focus on quality and diversity, within a financial assistance budget determined annually, based on the priorities of that year. The vice president takes a leadership role in helping the college to maintain a healthy financial profile, which requires an appropriate balance between financial aid and tuition to ensure that the college provides access to worthy students while meeting its financial goals.

Qualifications: At least seven years of progressive experience in admissions with a significant amount of supervisory-level experience preference will be given to candidates with more experience. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral and written communication skills, as well as overall leadership qualities are required. Knowledge of admission databases and information systems and familiarity with predictive modeling and geo-demography are required. A master's degree is required. Other required qualifications include:
Exceptional vision and the ability to articulate that vision and use it to define and shape a culture committed to strong enrollment and retention across the institution.
Demonstrated ability to lead a strategically-driven enrollment operation.
Knowledge of strategic institutional branding, marketing, and public relations.
Exceptional relationship-building and team-building skills, including the ability to grow and mentor staff; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a collaborative style of leadership conducive to working effectively with diverse populations.
A proven track record for effectively leading a team and/or staff including, but not limited to, overseeing of hiring, training, staff development, performance appraisals, corrective action, workflow management and staff recognition.
Strong project management skills.
Direct experience working successfully with a board of trustees.
Experience with budget management.
Energy, an entrepreneurial spirit, and lofty aspirations for success.
Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
