Systems Administrator

Cornell College is accepting applications for a full-time Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of campus client-server integrations, including network printing, malware detection systems, campus-wide software deployment, and lab/technology classroom computing. The System Administrator will also assist with the day-to-day management of the network and server farm infrastructure.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associates degree in an appropriate computer-related field or equivalent technical certifications and experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Experience with administering server-based application and services required. Previous Cisco networking experience preferred. Experience with open source and Apple operating systems a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate and interact professionally in a variety of situations (in person and on the telephone). Must be able to manage own time, meet deadlines, set priorities, and work independently and as part of a team. Must have knowledge of computer networking, desktop operating systems, and software (specifically Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Mac OS, and Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to troubleshoot network connections and operating systems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
