esports Head Coach

Cornell College is seeking its first-ever esports head coach. Cornell intends to begin competing in Overwatch beginning in Fall 2019. This full-time position, available in January 2019, will help launch the new esports program including assisting with the arena design and equipment selection and procurement. This position develops and manages all aspects of the esports program, including but not limited to: recruiting and retaining student participants; coordinating and conducting practices and competitions; developing game and life skills among students; and creating a highly visible program. Recruiting students is an essential objective of the position.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree. Competitive gaming experience required; esport coaching experience preferred. Current player ranking in selected gaming title(s) and knowledge of relevant strategies, play patterns, and dynamics of competitive play. Broader knowledge of online multiplayer games and technologies. Conduct activities in accordance with institutional and selected external esport organizing bodies. Internet and database skills. A commitment to the values, standards, and expectations of a residential, liberal arts college. Must have valid driver's license and insurance coverage (if driving own vehicle) or be insurable.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
